Collect RSVPs by household with a private invitation link
A household RSVP link helps you plan how many adults and children will attend, without exposing your full guest list. Milan can host a text-readable invitation and give each household a separate private link. Start by copying the text of your card, then check the date, venue and host contact before publishing.
For example, invite one household for up to four guests. They can confirm two adults and one child, decline, or leave a tentative response. The host sees a combined count and can download a guest-list CSV. Each household sees only its own response. This pilot supports 100 households per event, up to 20 guests per household, for 90 days.
Send each private link yourself to the intended household. A forwarded link lets its holder view and change that household response. Replace or revoke a link if it was shared incorrectly. If the venue or date changes, update the event and ask guests to review it again; responses to an earlier event revision are marked in the host view.
The host must have permission to share event details and collect responses. Keep guest notes brief and avoid sensitive information. Save the private management backup separately from the card. This tool does not send messages automatically, and existing card-download prices stay unchanged.
What should an invitation card include?
Put the most useful information ahead of decorative wording. A guest should be able to identify who is inviting them, what the celebration is, when to arrive and where to go. If the ceremony and meal start at different times, state both clearly in Additional details.
| Detail | What to write |
|---|---|
| Occasion and main names | The couple, child, family or birthday celebrant, with spelling checked by them or their family. |
| Inviting family or hosts | The people extending the invitation; keep this separate from the main names when useful. |
| Date and time | An unambiguous date, arrival or ceremony time, and AM/PM where needed. |
| Venue and address | The venue name, area and city. Add a useful nearby landmark if the location is difficult to find. |
| Personal message | One or two sentences that welcome your guests and explain what you are celebrating. |
| RSVP and additional details | A contact person, reply deadline, meal time or other practical information only when needed. |
Wedding and engagement invitation wording
For a wedding, lead with the couple’s names and confirm whether the invitation is for the ceremony, reception or both. Family names can appear in Inviting family / hosts. An opening blessing is optional; a warm secular invitation works equally well.
Wedding example: “With the love of our families, we, Aditi and Rohan, invite you to celebrate our wedding on 12 December 2027 at 6:00 PM at Gulmohar Hall, Pune. Please join us for the ceremony, followed by dinner. Your company will make the evening special.”
Engagement example: “Please join the Joshi and Kulkarni families as Meera and Aarav celebrate their engagement. We look forward to welcoming you on 18 July 2027 at 11:00 AM at Saffron Courtyard, Nashik. Lunch will follow the ceremony.”
You do not need to fit every family member’s name into the opening sentence. Keep the message short and use the hosts and additional details fields for the rest. If you have separate wedding events, make the schedule explicit rather than relying on guests to infer it.
Naming ceremony, housewarming and birthday examples
Naming ceremony example: “A little name, a new chapter, and a room full of love. Please join the Deshmukh family for our baby’s naming ceremony on 8 August 2027 at 10:30 AM at our home in Kothrud, Pune. We would be delighted to share this moment with you.”
Housewarming example: “Our new home feels more like home with the people we love. The Patil family warmly invites you to our housewarming on 9 May 2027 at 10:00 AM at Lotus Residency, Baner, Pune. Please join us for lunch from 12:30 PM.”
Birthday example: “Anaya is turning five! Come along for games, cake and a happy afternoon on 20 June 2027, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Mango Garden Hall, Thane. Please let the hosts know by 15 June if you can join us.”
When an event is at a private home, share the full address with invited guests rather than posting the card publicly. For a child’s celebration, use only the details the family is comfortable sharing and choose an adult as the contact person.

Turn your wording into an invitation in Milan
- Open the invitation maker, select English, Marathi or Hindi, and choose your celebration. Add the main names and a valid event date; other fields can be left empty when they do not apply.
- The language selection changes the form labels and invitation headings. Names, addresses and messages are not automatically translated; type them in the language you want your guests to read.
- Enter the hosts, time, venue and address in their own fields. Type the date in day/month/year order: 09012027 becomes 09/01/2027. Add your invitation message and any useful schedule or RSVP information.
- Try the eight designs in the live preview. They work across all five occasions. You can add an optional JPG, PNG or WebP photo up to 5 MB and adjust its crop. Choose a top symbol, or No symbol, and edit or remove the opening blessing to suit your celebration.
- Open Writing ideas beside the message to review an original short, formal or warm starter. Applying it replaces only the message after confirmation when you already have custom wording. Edit the result in your own voice.
- Add an optional HTTPS venue map link to include a scannable QR. Enter the event time and select its time zone if you want a calendar file. The calendar is a one-hour event snapshot; it does not collect RSVPs or update itself later.
- Review every preview page. If a long message creates another page, shorten it or keep the extra page deliberately. Save a private JSON backup if you want an editable copy of the draft.
- When the card is ready, review the download purchase details and complete checkout. After payment is verified, download PDF or PNG. Edits and repeat downloads remain included for that same invitation draft.
PDF or PNG: what should you send?
To share a paid file directly, choose Prepare PDF to share or Prepare image to share, then use the Share button to choose an app. On devices without file sharing, it downloads instead. No message is sent automatically.
Choose PNG when you want a card image to share in a message. It exports the preview page currently selected. If your invitation has multiple pages, select and download each page you want to share. Some messaging services compress images; check the received version on a phone so small details remain legible.
Choose PDF for an A4 document containing every page. Before printing a batch, print one copy with the paper size and fit settings you plan to use. Check the page edges, portrait crop, text size and colour on that copy. The design PDF preserves the artwork as an image; its text is not selectable.
- Confirm the spelling of names with the people named on the card.
- Check date, AM/PM, ceremony and meal times, and the complete venue address.
- Remove every fictional sample value and any optional detail you do not want to share.
- Read Marathi and Hindi text in the actual preview, including line breaks and name spellings.
- Ask one guest or family member to read a test copy before sending it to everyone.
